Owen Sound, ON
Virginia is an artist based in Owen Sound, Ontario. She attended the Ontario College of Art in Toronto, Ontario. Her work focuses on contemporary fused and lamp-worked glass based on ancient techniques. Virginia uses wire-work to exemplify and demonstrate her abstract designs and she attributes her work to artists such as Miro, Henry Moore and Tom Thomson shape. Virginia infuses copper wire between layers of fractured glass to entrap air between the layers. The result creates unique bubbles giving fluidity, life and depth to the designs.
