Stephen Hawes

Stephen originally received a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Guelph and went on to become a school teacher. In 1989 he started taking ceramic courses at Sir Sanford Fleming College and from there his pottery career blossomed. Since then, he has participated in many workshops and exhibitions and is active in the local art community. Stephen has also won many awards for his pottery, including: The Harbinger Award, People's Choice Award, Ontario Craft Council Design Award, The Dorothea Tutte Award, Best in Show, Tucker Purchase Award, Best Functional Piece and two Awards of Merit. Stephen works and lives in Waterloo, Ontario.
