Collection: Rich Weiss
A native of Toronto, Rich graduated from Sheridan College in 2000. Rich throws forms with a concern for balance and proportion and then shapes them intuitively while they are still wet on the wheel. Each pot has its own identity – its own irregularities and idiosyncrasies, as opposed to a tightly controlled or machined aesthetic. Rich hopes people will enjoy his work in a practical way: he wants his pieces to invite use. In addition to utility he wants his pieces to provoke a tactile and visual response. By handling and examining his work he hopes you will experience the physicality, creativity and joy of the making process. Rich currently operates a studio in Toronto’s Queen Street West district.
