The discovery of glass has been a true revelation to me, a mysterious and exciting material. My interest in this material is not only of its technical complexity but because of its way to reveal the artist`s purpose. Glass, especially blown glass is now anchored into my motivations as an artist in the making. This water tower series is derived from a particular interest for its structure, often emblematic. In a city like Montreal, these modern artefacts are preserved as historical heritage in memory of a former industrial era. This imposing structure appears in the urban environment as an architectural imprint left behind by an industry that prefers technological progress.
