Collection: Mary Lazier
Mary was born in Toronto, Ontario and graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto and Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. Her first experience with clay was in 1972, which involved two years of course work at George Brown College. In 1977, Mary registered "Spiral Pottery" in Toronto, a non-profit society devoted to encouraging potters by providing classes, workshops, teaching opportunities and workspace to over 50 potters and two hundred students over a period of twelve years. Most of the textures she uses come from fabric and rolling pins. The construction techniques are related to pastry, dressmaking and cake decorating. Currently, she works in a country studio in Violet Hill, Ontario.
