Globe-like, glass-blown paperweight with an abstract amber design suspended within.
Matt emigrated from Poland to Canada in 1985. Apprenticed by his father as a stone-wheel engraver, he pursued his interests and studied in the Hot Glass Program at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario where he teaches the art of engraving. Matt absorbs his inspiration from the "systems and mechanisms of the natural and human world and where these elements intersect". Matt is regarded as a master of glass-blowing and stone-wheel engraving traditions and may invest over thirty hours to engrave a single, small piece through stone-wheel engraving.
